Use this dialog box to control various aspects of Reflection's behavior while acting as a 3270 printer. This dialog box is not available if it is disabled in the profile associated with this session.
The following options are available:
Character translation group box:
National character set |
Identifies the various host character sets that Reflection printing supports. If necessary, you can change this setting to match the locale configured on the host. |
|
Country extended graphics code |
When this option is selected (default), additional printable characters are available in the configured
national character set. See your host documentation for details. |
|
Preferences group box:
Override host page format |
When this option is selected, page formatting specified on the Print Setup
dialog is used, regardless of what the host specifies, unless
print formatting codes (escape sequences) are present in the data stream. Such
codes are not interpreted by Reflection, so their effect on the page formatting
is unpredictable.
This option is cleared by default. |
|
Transparent mode |
When Transparent mode is selected,
Reflection sends the text to the printer as received from the
host without adding any additional formatting. |
|
Translate EBCDIC in SCS TRN transparent mode |
When this option is selected, EBCDIC characters are translated to ASCII when
they are received in a TRN (transparent mode) command from the host. When this
box is cleared (default), characters are printed without
being translated. |
|
Auto print line feed |
When this option is selected (the default), if the host attempts to print a character beyond the edge of
the host-defined page, Reflection automatically wraps to a new line to print the character. When this
option is cleared, line feeds are not performed. |
|
Emulate form feeds | When this option is selected, and a form feed is received in the data stream, Reflection determines how many line feeds are required to reach the bottom of the page (as defined by the host) and then sends that many line feeds. When this option is cleared (the default), Reflection closes the current page and starts a new one. |
|
DBCS scale | This option appears only in double-byte versions of Reflection for the Web.
With the default value for this setting (1:2), Reflection uses two single-byte columns to print one column of double-byte data. So, for example, if you've set up your page for 80 columns, you'll be able to print 40 columns of double-byte data. This setting gives you the option of changing this ratio. For example, you can print two double-byte columns in what would be three single-byte columns when you change the value to 2:3. So if you set up your page for 80 columns, you'll be able to print about 53 columns of double-byte data. |
|
Perform form feed wherever it appears (LU3 only) | When selected, a form feed will always be performed regardless of printer position.
When cleared (the default), a form feed is performed only if the printer position is in column 1.
If the printer position is not in column one, a space will be printed instead of issuing the form feed.
This setting applies to LU3 printers only.
|
|
Display Terminal ID in status line | When enabled, the terminal ID is displayed on the status line of the client session.
|
|
Scaling group box: When these options are selected (the default), Reflection mediates between the page size, as specified by the host, and the printer to assure that the printout will fit correctly on the page. Reflection does this by scaling. If the host does not define a page size, or if Override host page format is selected, the page size is derived from the Rows and Columns settings on the Page options dialog in the Page Setup dialog box. If you turn scaling off, use the Rows and Columns settings to adjust the page size of the printout.
Fit host page width |
When selected, Reflection scales the host page to assure that printout fits on the printer page horizontally. |
|
Fit host page height |
When selected, Reflection scales the host page to assure that printout fits on the printer page vertically. |
